Grilled Balsamic Glazed Onions 7/00 #522

2 large onions; sliced 3/8 inch thick
2 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
toasted sliced almonds; for garnish
Coat the onion rings with some vegetable oil; lay out on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Meanwhile, combine the balsamic vinegar, sugar and salt. Baste onions with the vinegar mixture and transfer to a grill for 4 or 5 minutes until nicely browned. Sprinkle almonds on top before serving.
