Sausage & Pepper Grill 9/98

1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon course black pepper
1 red pepper; inch wide strips
1 green pepper; cut the same
1 red onion; chunked
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 sweet italian sausage links
In a cup, mix balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. In a large bowl, toss peppers and onions with olive oil to coat. Place sausages and vegetables on grill over medium heat. Cook sausages 15 to 20 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through. Cook veggies about fifteen minutes or until tender, turning occasionally and brushing with some balsamic mixture during the last 3 minutes of cooking. Transfer veggies and sausage to platter as they finish cooking. To serve, cut sausage into 2" diagonal slices. Drizzle some balsamic mixture over veggies.
