Spicy Macaroni and Cheese #898 8/08

1 cup elbow macaroni; uncooked
4 oz cheddar cheese; shredded
4 oz cheddar cheese; cubed
4 oz pepper jack cheese; cubed
1/2 lb ham; cubed
1 teaspoon flour
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1 dash nutmeg
2 tablespoon sour cream
1/2 large egg; beaten
1 cup heavy cream
2 slices bread; cubed
2 teaspoon Butter

Preheat oven to 350°F. Cook Macaroni. In a large bowl, toss together the noodles with the cheese cubes and ham and pour into a 2 qt. baking dish. In another large bowl mix together the flour, salt, pepper, cayenne, dry mustard, nutmeg, then sour cream, egg, and cream. Pour over the pasta and cover with the shredded cheddar. Bake uncovered until top is just beginning to brown, about 35 minutes. Meanwhile in a skillet over medium heat, saute the bread cubes until golden. Sprinkle the bread cubes on top of the caserole and bake about 10 minutes more.
