Saucy Chicken 10/99

1/4 cup celery slices
2 tablespoon onion; chopped
2 tablespoon green pepper; chopped
2 tablespoon butter
1 1/2 tablespoon flour
3/8 cup milk
4 oz cheez whiz
2 mushrooms; sliced
1/4 cup sliced almonds; toasted
1 cup cooked chicken; chopped
2 pieces toast or biscuit
Saute celery, onion, and green pepper in butter. Blend in flour. Gradually add milk; cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add cheese; stir until melted. If sauce is too thick at this point, add some beer or broth until desired consistancy is reached. Add remaining ingredients, heat, stirring constantly. Serve over toast.
Yield: 3 servings
