1 lb stew meat
1/2 cup flour
2 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoon butter
2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
1 garlic clove; minced
1 small onion; sliced
1 bay leaf; crushed
1/2 tablespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 dash allspice
1 dash cloves; ground
3 carrots; chunked
2 potatoes; chunked
1/2 lb small white onions
Put flour and meat in a bag and shake to cover meat. Put butter and oil in a dutch oven and add meat. Brown well on all sides. Add all spices, sliced onion, water and carrots. Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Add potatoes and small onions. Cook for about 1/2 hour or until potatoes are done. I would suggest making some dumplings to put on top of this. This can also be made in a pressure cooker. Brown meat; add everything else except potatoes and onions. Pressure cook for 20 minutes. Meanwhile cook potatoes and onions. Add to the stew when done cooking.
