Baked Red Cabbage **** 1/95

1 onion; medium
1 teaspoon dill seed
1 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon butter
1 1/4 cup red cabbage; (5 1/2 oz.)
1 green pepper
1 salt and pepper
3 tablespoon dry white wine
1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese; grated

Thinly slice onion. Place in a frying pan with dill, oil, butter, and onion. Fry gently until onion is soft. Thinly slice cabbage and Jullienne the green pepper. Add to cooked onion, season with salt and pepper and mix well. Add the wine and mix again. Turn into a shallow casserole. Sprinkle cheese on top. Bake at 400 for 25 minutes.

Yield: 4 servings
