Hard Sauce for Figgy Pudding #937 12/09

1 cup Butter; softened
1 cup confectioners sugar
2 tablespoon myer's dark rum
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Allow butter to soften, but do not melt. Beat in the sugar a little at a time, and continue beating until sauce is smooth and creamy. Beat in rum and nutmeg until well blended. Chill for several hours. A few drops of food coloring may be added if desired.
