German Style Short Ribs #918 6/09

3/4 cup dry red wine
1/2 cup mango chutney
3 tablespoon quick cooking tapioca
1/4 cup Water
3 tablespoon brown sugar
3 tablespoon red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
4 lbs bone in beef short ribs
2 medium onions; sliced
cooked rice
in a slow cooker, combine the first eleven ingredients. Add the ribs and turn to coat. Top with onions. Cover and cook on high for 4 to 5 hours until meat is tender. Remove ribs from cooker. Skim fat from cooking juices; serve with ribs and rice. Serve with remaining chutney.
