Cabbage and Noodles #904 12/08

1/4 lb bacon
1/2 medium onion; sliced
2 large cloves garlic; chopped
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3 oz noodles
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 lb cabbage; sliced
Boil noodles in salted water for 10 to 12 minutes. Cut bacon into thin slices and saute in a dutch oven. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes. Add garlic and onion and cook for another 8 to 10 minutes. Season with the pepper. Add the cabbage and cook for 6 or 8 minutes until the cabbage has wilted. Add salt, drained noodles and broth and mix well. We served this with cottage ham (picnic shoulder butt).
