Sausage Sandwich #902 10/08

1 lb bulk Italian sausage
1 medium onion; chopped
1/2 cup green pepper; chopped
1 clove garlic; minced
1 8 oz Pck cream cheese
1/4 cup parmesan; grated
1/4 cup Water
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1 loaf italian bread
1 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese; shredded

In a large skillet, cook the sausage, onion, green pepper, and garlic over medium high heat until the meat is no longer pink. Drain. Add the cream cheese, parmesan, water and oregano. Cook and stir until the cheese is melted. Cut bread in half horizontally, hollow out top and bottom. Place bread bottom on a piece of non stick foil on a baking pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 of the mozzarella cheese, top with the sausage mixture and remaining cheese. Replace bread top. Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes. This was good with some Contadina pizza sauce on top.
