Country Ham Steak

1/4 cup butter
1 small head cabbage
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 ham slices
1/4 cup pancake syrup

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In 12" skillet over medium-high heat, in hot butter, cook coarsley chopped cabbage and salt, stirring quickly and frequently, until cabbage is tender crisp, about five minutes. Spoon cabbage evenly into 13" x 9" baking dish. Place ham on top of cabbage; drizzle syrup over ham slices and cabbage. Bake in oven 30 minutes or until ham is heated through, stirring cabbage occasionally so that it does not stick. Serve immediately.
