1 lb ground beef
8 oz shredded cheddar
2 large eggs; slightly beaten
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
3 tablespoon mustard
3 oz can french fried onions; crushed
bread slices; for lining
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a loaf pan with foil and then with bread slices. (to capture the grease) In a large bowl combine the ground beef and the next seven ingredients, mixing well. In a small bowl combine ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar. Stir 1/4 cup of the mixture into the meat mixture, reserving remaining ketchup mixture. Place the meat onto the loaf pan and form a loaf. Spread remaining ketchup mixture over top. Bake 45 minutes, top with french fried onions and bake for another 15 minutes. Let this set for about 20 minutes or it will be too soupy. This is much better the second day.
