Cheesy Baked Onions ***1/2 8/97

2 medium onions
2 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoon flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar
Slice onions and separate into rings. Saute until almost tender. Place in a greased 1 quart baking dish and set aside. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in flour and salt until smooth. Gradually add the milk, stirring. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook and stir for about two minutes. Remove from heat; stir in cheese until melted. Pour over onions. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 40 to 50 minutes or until onions are tender.
