Salisbury Steak With Gravy #719 1/05

1 large egg
2 tablespoon dry bread crumbs
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3/4 lb ground sirloin
3 tablespoon flour; divided
2 tablespoon olive oil -----GRAVY-----
1 10 1/2 oz can beef broth
1 tablespoon Butter
1 medium onion; sliced
4 oz mushrooms; sliced
1 1/2 tablespoon flour
1/4 cup red wine
1 teaspoon kitchen Bouquet

In a small bowl, combine the egg, bread crumbs, garlic powder and pepper. Mix beef into mixture. Shape into 4 patties; dredge in 2 tablespoons flour. In a large skillet, brown patties on both sides. Drain and set patties aside. For the gravy, using same pan, heat 1 tablespoon butter with 1/4 of the beef broth, add mushrooms and onions, cook until onions are transparent adding more beef broth as needed. Add flour and cook for 5 minutes. Add remainder of beef broth, Kitchen Bouquet and wine; simmer until thickened. Add meat back and simmer for 20 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes. Pour gravy over the potatoes and meat.
