Ham With Dijon Pineapple Sauce **** 12/96

5 lb precooked ham
1 whole cloves
1 maraschino cherries; halved
1 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup maple flavored syrup
1/4 cup country dijon mustard
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 can 1 lb. 4 oz crushed pineapple
Score ham. Stud with cloves and cherries. Place on rack in a shallow baking pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 2 hours. Meanwhile, combine sugar, syrup and mustard. Use 3/4 cup to baste ham every ten minutes during the last 40 minutes of baking. Heat remaining glaze. Mix cornstarch with a little water and stir into the glaze. Add pineapple with the juice. Simmer, stirring constantly until sauce thickens. Serve sauce with ham.
