Cajun Burgers **** 8/97

----CAJUN SEASONING BLEND*******---
3 tablespoon ground cumin
3 tablespoon oregano
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon paprika
2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup onion; finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cajun seasoning (above)
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1 garlic clove; minced
4 hamburger buns
1 sauteed onions (optional)
Combine all seasoning blend ingredients together. Mix well. In a bowl, combine the first 8 burger ingredients; shape into 4 patties. Cook in a skillet or grill over medium hot coals for 4 to 5 minutes per side or until burgers reach desired doneness. Serve on buns; top with sauted onions if desired. Store remaining seasoning blend in a shaker. This blend is good on a LOT of stuff.
