No-Mix Cherry-Pineapple Nut Cake #654 4/03

1 20 oz can crushed pineapple in heavy syrup
1 21 oz can cherry pie filling
1 package yellow cake mix; 2 layer size
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup Butter
Preheat oven to 350°F . Spray Pam on a 9 X 13 inch baking dish. Spread pineapple with its syrup evenly in the dish. Spoon pie filling evenly over the pineapple. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the mixture, then the chopped nuts over all. Slice the chilled butter into thin strips, then put the strips evenly over other ingredients. Bake for 50 minutes or until golden. Serve warm.
