Butterscotch Yams 7/8/00 #524

1 28 oz can yams; well drained
1/2 cup dark Karo
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup heavy cream or half & half
2 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Arrange yams in a single layer in a square baking dish. Bake at 325 for 15 minutes. Combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil over medium heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring. Pour over yams. Bake basting once every five minutes for 15 minutes longer or until glazed.
