Taco Soup 8/99

1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 1/4 oz envelope taco seasoning
14 1/2 oz can stewed tomatoes
15 oz can kidney beans; undrained
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon crushed dried chilies(opt.)
1 shredded cheddar
1 chopped onion
1 corn chips
1 sour cream
Brown ground beef & onions in a dutch oven. Drain. Add taco seasoning, tomatoes, beans, chiles and water; heat until soup comes to a boil and is heated through. Ladle into individual bowls. Top with onions, corn chips, cheese, and sour cream.
Yield: 6 servings
