South of the Border Tortilla Soup #589 10/01

2 cups south of the border beans No.588
1 14 1/2 oz. can chicken broth
1/2 rounded teaspoon sugar
juice of 1/2 lemon
1 cup tortilla chips; crushed or crumpled
mexican blend cheese; shredded

Place broth and sugar in a dutch oven and bring to a boil. Add beans and bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium low, stir in the lemon juice. Crush chips and place in soup bowls. Ladle soup over the chips and sprinkle with the cheese.
