Vanilla Sauce for Fig Pudding #581 8/01

1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup boiling water
2 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix sugar and cornstarch. Gradually add to the boiling water, stirring constantly. Boil 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add the butter and vanilla. Stir until melted. Serve hot on warmed fig pudding.
