Two Serving Cheese Puffs **** 1/97

3 slices white or wheat bread
2 eggs; slightly beaten
1 cup milk
3/4 cup shredded cheddar
1/2 lb bulk sausage; fried
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 six good shakes of hot sauce

Butter bread on one side. Cut bread into strips, place with buttered side down along the sides and bottom of 10 oz. custard cups. In a bowl, mix the remaining ingredients. Pour into the custard cups. Place on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes or until puffy and golden brown. Serve with fruit or a salad.

Yield: 2 servings
