Turkey Muenster Casserole **** 1/97

1/2 lb penne pasta
1/2 lb broccoli
3 tablespoon unsalted butter
3/8 cup flour
3 cup half & half
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon louisiana hot sauce
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
2 cup cooked turkey chunks
3/4 lb smoked mozzarella; diced
Cook penne (or other small tubular pasta). Cut up broccoli into bite size pieces and cook until crisp tender. Drain pasta and brocolli. Meanwhile prepare sauce. Melt butter in a saucepan; stir in flour; gradually add milk. Add salt, pepper, nutmeg, and pepper sauce. Cook, stirring, until thick and bubbly. Combine penne, broccoli, sauce, turkey, and mozzarella in a large bowl. Mix it up. Spread the mixture in a medium casserole which has been coated with Pam. Cover dish and bake for about 35 minutes at 350 or until bubbly. You might like to put a layer of fresh bread crumbs mixed with melted butter on top before baking.
