Beef Stroganoff 10/93 ****

1 lb tender steak
2 onions; sliced thin
4 tablespoon butter
8 oz sour cream
2 tablespoon tomato paste
1/2 cup wine
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 noodles for 4
Thinly slice meat diagonally, saute in 2 TB of the butter, remove meat; add remaining butter and the onions, saute until tender. If the meat is fairly tender at this point, add it to the pan with the remaining ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes. Serve over noodles. If meat is tough, cook in a separate pan in water with a bouillon cube added until tender, then proceed as above.
Yield: 4 servings
