Heavenly Onion Casserole 7/98

1 tablespoon butter
1 1/2 sweet onions
4 oz fresh mushrooms; sliced
1 cup swiss cheese; shredded
1/2 can cream of mushroom soup
1 small can evaporated milk
1 teaspoon soy sauce
4 slices swiss cheese
4 slices french bread

In a large skillet melt butter and saute onions and mushrooms in the butter. Place onions and mushrooms in a 1 qt. casserole. Sprinkle with shredded cheese. Combine soy sauce, soup, evaporated milk and pour over cheese. Layer bread over that and top with slices of cheese. Cover and refrigerate 4 hours. Bake at for 30 minues; uncovered for 20 minutes.

Yield: 4 servings
